for noble reasons, we have come to associate kindness with a capacity not to give up on people. our heroes and heroines put up with the hardships and friction to keep faith with those they love. even when it does more harm than good to ourselves in the long run. “ifyoulovesomeone” is about giving permission to yourself with the capacity to give up on people. narcissistic friends. unfaithful lover. and the likes. walking away isn’t a sign of cowardice or weakness of character. it is a sign that we have (finally) learnt to love and respect ourselves, and so place our needs where these should always have been: at the center of our considerations.
