BrightBlack Morning Light recorded 2 studio albums in 2006 & 2008 to critical acclaim in the US & UK. BBML's "Live Journal One" explores instrumental variations of this music. Mr. Shineywater's compositions sprawl across a hundreds year old barn, the California ocean waves are just a few miles away. As artists Shineywater & Hughes maintained a non-corporate relation to creativity; the result is as intimate as possible, yet still landed them in Rollingstone as an "Artist To Watch," noting Mr. Shineywater's rural festivals as important for music in California. Track 1 & 2 contributors include Northern California artists Meara O'Reilly on harp & Elias Reitz on percussion, while the live "Everybody Daylight" features Matthew Davis on percussion with PM Townsend on drum kit. "Swaying Island Plows" also features Matthew Davis on vibes/percussion & PM Townsend drum kit, a new song special to this release.
