Sheriff of the South marks the bold debut of Twiddy Twist, a dynamic solo hip-hop artist signed to DmG Music Group (Pty) Ltd. Though officially representing Soweto—the cultural heartbeat of South African music—Twiddy splits his life between the South and the North, a duality that fuels his artistry. Long known behind the scenes as a key creative force in the amapiano scene, Twiddy now steps into the spotlight with this 9-track EP, blending sharp, introspective lyricism with the infectious rhythms of amapiano to carve out a sound that’s uniquely his own. Sheriff of the South is more than just a collection of songs—it’s a declaration of identity, resilience, and ambition. Each track navigates the tension between Twiddy’s dual existence: the gritty realities of township life, the grind of cross-city hustling, and the relentless pursuit of greatness in a competitive industry. With production that fuses traditional hip-hop grit and contemporary South African grooves, the EP showcases Twiddy’s versatility as both a wordsmith and a sonic innovator. As his first official body of work, Sheriff of the South introduces listeners to an artist unafraid to wear his roots on his sleeve while pushing boundaries. From introspective storytelling to club-ready anthems, Twiddy Twist delivers a project that resonates with authenticity and streetwise wisdom. This EP isn’t just a launchpad—it’s a coronation. Welcome to the reign of the Sheriff.
