High Risk is a Los Angeles based modern day melodic punk rock band with early roots on the east coast, hailing from the tri-state area. The band stepped on the tour scene in 2003, playing heavily with acts such as Fall Out Boy, Pennywise, Guttermouth, Simple Plan, MEST, Hawthorn Heights, Digger, Lucky Boys Confusion, Lost City Angels, Matchbook Romance, and many more, eventually being offered a record deal by Interscope in 2005. The group then relocated to Hollywood, CA where each of them found new passions in other genres of music, performance, managing local talent, and studio/session work. The original members dispersed to form several other projects in the LA region until recently coming back in late 2014 to shake awake the sleeping giant adding new members from other projects they performed in over that time. These seasoned road dogs are barking louder than ever and ready to chew through anything in their path to a screaming success. The band found its way to radio play in 2003 on stations like 95.5 WBRU (RI), 107.7 WCSU (CT), and 103.7 FNX (RI) and college radio stations wherever they could get on. They were the HIGHEST DOWNLOADED UNSIGNED BAND on Kazaa in the summer of 2003, maintained the #1 slot on the charts of Cornerband.com for over 10 weeks in a row, and also won the “30 Best band Promotion” put on by Cornerband. They were also Nominated for Buzzplay’s Best Unsigned Band in 2003 and 2004 and won URI’s battle of the bands in 2004. They have also been able to be placed on some great compilation CDs.
