Katrina was born just south of Buffalo in Springville, NY. Her first public performance was at the age of 5 in a production of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." Her family moved to West Virginia, her father's home state, when she was 10. She toured with a gospel group while in high school and perfromed her first two originals at school assemblies. After that she fronted a couple of local rock bands until she moved to California to begin her solo career. Katrina the singer/songwriter was officially born in 1990. She started out at Cafe Montreal in downtown Sacramento. After that, she played every coffeehouse, club, bar, etc. that would book her and she gained a fiercely loyal following as a result. Late in 1993, Kat relocated to Asheville, NC and quickly gained respect and a following with the help of local touring favorites "Primitive Future." She often opened shows for the group and later stepped in as lead singer while PF's own Lisa Pawlak took a leave of absence. During this time, Katrina got to perfrom at the legendary Double Door in Charlotte, NC as well as The Blubird Cafe in Nashville. After making her way back to Wv, Kat joined local rockers Catch 22 as lead vocalist. She remained with the band for four years and recorded "Counting," a cd containing 12 of her originals, with them. "Fabulous Thing" is her first full-length album since 2003s "Observations." "Fabulous Thing" also represents her first album with more than one word for a title! The new record contains plenty of humor, obscene amounts of emotion, and some wisdom for good measure. Buy it for yourself and/or a friend and see for yourself.
