Sultry, and versatile mezzo jazz singer Donne E. Scott has wowed audiences locally and nationally. Her debut album, Somehow I Knew promises the same. From the contemporary title song, Somehow I Knew It Would Be You with its George Duke riffs, to the Sweetest Sounds from the Great American Songbook, to the haunting ballad So in Love, to juke joint jazz blues original, Baby I'm in Love with You and the beautifully written ballad, Love Me Tonight, to the original but Tower of Power inspired If Only Time Would Just Stand Still, to her hat tip to Sarah Vaughan's iconic Just Friends with Donna's own Chicago style ending, this mixture of contemporary and cross over jazz is sure to please. A native Chicagoan who now resides in Houston, Donna's album boasts, a feast of both some of Houston's most prolific and up and coming musicians; Skip Nallia, Darrell Lavinge, Raul Blanco, Jelando Johnson, Brennan Nase, Royden Francis, Yul Dorn, Vernon Daniels, Ronyayaro Fana, Horace Alexander Young, LeTriel M. White, Ernesto Vega, Richard T. Owens and Alex Ramirez. People will be talking about this album for a very long time. You can check Donna Out on Facebook, Reverb Nation and Gig salad.
