New York City In The 80's Vol.2 "Good To Go The EP Collection" rounds up three 5 song cassettes of rocking originals from New York City 1987-91 . These mini cassettes "Gonna Rock And Ball Tonight" , "Good To Go" and " Where The Sun Always Shines" along with the " Psycho C&W /Psycho Ranchero " full length cassette now remastered on cd , were originally sold at truck stops and strip mall parking lots from Ajo, Arizona to Seattle ,Washington in 1993 and sold in Phoenix from 1994-1996 . These cassettes came from various recording sessions for The Mike Lennon Band , The Psychobillys The Bumpkyns and a live track from The Mokus Brothers at Kenny's Castaways . The earliest recording here is "She Left Me" from a 1987 session with The Bumpkyns . John Cisco , bass , Ben Landa , ld guitar , Dug Rock , drums . Written like an early Elvis Sun Records 45 , " She Left Me" was recorded along with "Bye Bye Bye Baby" and "Watching The Clouds" (both available on Mike Lennon's "N.Y. City In The 80's " cd). "See See Ryder " from Feb.89 was recorded at The Planet Doc sessions in the East Village, with Doc Fret ld . guitar, Vince Hancock drums , and Danny Fernandez bass . From summer of 1989 comes a live recording from The Mokus Brothers at Kenny's Castaways Lennon's original blues "Nagging Woman " , Jimmy Harper harmonica , Marc West bass , Vince Hancock drums Peter May ld guitar . In 1990 Mike formed the Mike Lennon Band playing regularly at Downtown Beirut , The Bitter End , Back Fence , CBGBS Gallery and the Sun Mountain in the Village . Never a steady a steady lineup Rich Albertson , John Cisco , and Danny Fernandez played bass Shane Granger and Peter May played lead guitar at some shows . These songs come from a 1990 Mike Lennon rockabilly session with Vince Hancock drums and Mike on vocals , lead and rhythm guitar and bass , recorded on a 4track at Mike's apartment on Norfolk Street in the Lower East Side . The tracks from this session are "Good To Go" , "Gonna Rock And Ball Tonight" ," Quake , Rattle And Roll ", "Brand New Woman" and " So Long Goodbye" . " Psycho Baby " , " One And Only" , " You Don't Wanna Be With Me " and " When Will I See You Again " were recorded for a video demo for Sun Records at a studio in midtown Manhatten in 1991 . Mike Lennon has been a professional musician since 1983 , born in Brooklyn N.Y. Mike grew up in Floral Park N.Y. playing in local bands The Outsyderz , and Cross Tie Walkers . He began playing solo in Greenwich Village on Bleeker Street in 1983 and formed The Bumpkyns in 1987 . In 1988 Planet Doc a Psychedelic C@W band played the Village before morphing into The Psychobillys This was Mike's main band till Jan.1992 . Mike has been a recording artist since 1980 making '" covers "demos for live gigs with The Outsyderz and Cross Tie Walkers before recording originals with The Bumpkyns in 1987 . This cd is Mike's 10th release for PRP .
