KOKETA represents my vision of where cumbia can go without losing its roots. As an artist from Monterrey, Mexico, my sound is inspired by the city's deep connection to Colombian cumbia and its unique Kolombia culture, while also embracing modern urban music. I call this fusion cumbia bellaka—a style that blends traditional cumbia with a fresh, energetic, and contemporary attitude. For this track, I drew inspiration from the speed and intensity of cumbia sabanera, building the groove around authentic percussion like caja vallenata, timbales, and guacharaca. Those elements give the song its driving rhythm, while the production brings a modern edge that feels right at home on today's dance floors. KOKETA is made to feel exciting from the very first second. It's playful, high-energy, and designed to get people moving, while still paying respect to the Colombian sounds that inspired generations of cumbia musicians and dancers. Rather than recreating a classic style, my goal is to push it forward and introduce it to a new audience. Through my music, I want to show that cumbia is constantly evolving. KOKETA is another step in that journey, connecting Colombian tradition, Monterrey's Kolombia culture, and today's urban sound into something that feels both familiar and completely new.
