Pianist Robert Irving III, producer of Miles Davis' Grammy Award nominated "Human Nature", teams with his "New Momentum" trio to bring a new holiday track that works all year-round for those who like relax with "Cruise Jazz". James Perkins will appeal to those addicted to the sound of soulful saxophone. It is easy to hear why Perkins would be a favorite sax player with the likes of Bobby Lyle and Anita Baker. The real story here it that the vocals of Chris Murrell (long-time vocalist with the Count Basie Band) and Rochell Irving of the the group Clarkwise inspired these instrumental versions with their hit single, The Christ-Mas Song (from the soon to be released CD "Brand New"). Their vocal stylings and melodic phrasings are a natural for the subtle piano paintings of Irving and sanguine holiday saxophone sounds of Perkins.
