Growing up in Detroit, Motown and Bob Seger were major influences on Blue. After leaving Seger's band, Blue, as a solo act, opened acoustically for acts such as Toto, Leo Sayer, Cheech & Chong, MeatLoaf, Tom Waits and so much more. Searching musically for his own niche, he lent his vocals to a couple Sea Level records, then moved on to play with Issac Hayes, recording two LP's with Issac. Still searching, always writing, Blue found success in Nashville with his band, the Gibson/Miller Band on Epic Records. Then went on to co-write, produce and record the music that got India Arie signed to Motown records, the music that became known as the Grammy nominated Acoustic Soul. Coming full circle, Blue wrote "We Are Detroit" as a healing song, to help give hope to what was once a great city, and an awesome, lasting influence on Blue.
