F4Music’s newest release from Friend Slash Lover Where have I been All My Life gets the remix treatment from John Goff. John retains the soulful core of the track while bringing in a decidedly darker edge. The breaks mix starts with a crisp drum track paired with the floating lightness of the original. However, once you have been lulled into a false sense of security they twist the track by bringing in a Sashaesque bass line that creates a dark undercurrent that anchors the mix down. The dubstep mix starts out an altogether darker feel. After establishing a solid break beat they let a fuzzed bass line loose to tear the speakers apart. Through out it all the vocals float above the carnage, providing a glimmer of light in the middle of a dark storm. Track Listing: 1.
