"The slow fade-in to the subtle sound of rainfall sets the stage perfectly for this eerie dramatic track. The ethereal synth arrangement in “Black Blood” is reminiscent of Depeche Mode, as it complements Deja’s dark and mesmerizing vocals. The sensual imagery grabs you instantly as the lyrics contrast the descriptions of sweet vanilla with black blood. Having forged a relationship with Eric Wright in 2012, the two have been working together ever since, pushing each other to create a sound beyond anything they both could imagine. Wright’s industrial inclinations are the perfect accompaniment to Deja Mae’s sultry sensibilities and spirited vocals. Their body of work so far includes the singles, “Sun Babies (Eric Wright Remix)”, “Honey Pi (Eric Wright Remix)” and their cover of The Weeknd’s “Wicked Games”, all which have received praised from numerous publications. Recently, Neufutur Magazine said that “the echoing, haunting vocals of Deja Mae will stick with listeners long after”. Proving her abilities far beyond, the traditional pop artist of today."
