SOMAOTA, the MC of the hip-hop collective Black petrol from western Japan, known for their recent performances at major festivals like SUMMER SONIC 2023, FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL '24, and China's biggest music event, STRAWBERRY MUSIC FESTIVAL, has released a new single titled "Alter Ego feat. Sorane", in collaboration with electro/underground producer Funny Factures. SOMAOTA and Sorane have been close friends for seven years, connecting through cyphers and live shows since their late teens. This marks their first musical collaboration in four years, since "Black petrol - Street Gig feat. Sorane." The track is a nostalgic tribute to memorable clubs and live venues like CIRCUS OSAKA, Kyoto METRO, and Namba Hatch, making it a truly personal and commemorative work. The song was born during a casual dinner with several fellow rappers, when a mutual friend asked, "Why don't SOMA and Sorane make a song together?" Coincidentally, on that very day, Funny Factures had sent over a beat, which the two listened to together - and the song came together from there.
