Silvercast is a female fronted melodic metal band from St Petersburg, Russia. The band hit the stage in 2008. Silvercast discography includes four releases: EP 'Dancing with the Silence', LP 'Chaos Engines', EP 'Name of the Wind' (all - self-released) and a compilation of songs in Russian 'Old Melody for a Flute' (by IronD Records). Latest discs were mixed and mastered by Anssi Kippo of Astia Studios and Mikka Jussila of Finnvox. The band's live shows are quite successful. Silvercast played together with Sonata Arctica, Xandria, Russian bands Pilot and Kukryniksy and also performed at solo gigs. The songs share a common theme but are quite diverse - there are slow ballads, powerful smash-hits and mid tempo compositions with unusual vocal lines and rhythmic patterns. Many of them are united with a plot which was fully disclosed by musicians in their own novel 'The Name of Chaos' (published in 2014 by 'Rod'). The novel tells a story about a steampunk demon world.
