A native New Yorker, Marc Stone was playing in NYC nightclubs alongside many stalwarts of the blues scene before he finished high school. Moving to New Orleans in 1993, he began playing on the streets of the French Quarter. As he graduated from the streets to clubs, concerts and festivals, he backed a variety of LA artists including Eddie Bo, Ernie K-Doe, Tommy Ridgely, Marva Wright, John Boutté and Grammy-award winner Terrance Simien. Stone began his solo career in earnest in 2002, performing in New Orleans and across the US, as well as touring Europe. In addition, he has hosted Soul Serenade on WWOZ-FM since 2002 and has produced numerous projects including The Campbell Brothers’ current CD, RALLYTIME! Live in New Orleans, and projects featuring soul legend Betty Harris, Mississippi Blues monster Vasti Jackson and a host of others. Stone’s current CD is a joint effort between Threadhead Records and his own Tulip Records label. Produced by Vasti Jackson, the CD will be his first full length studio recording featuring almost entirely original music. The tracks feature Kirk Joseph, Joe Krown, Sam Price, Keith “One Love” Sonnier, Seguenon Kone, Sean Carey and legendary drummer, Steve Holly.
